
Sohrab Shah PhD
Chief Informatics Officer
Sohrab Shah is the Chief of Computational Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He is a Senior Scientist in the Department of Molecular Oncology, British Columbia Cancer Agency, and an Associate Professor, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of British Columbia. Dr. Shah holds the Canada Research Chair in Computational Cancer Genomics and is a Susan G. Komen Scholar.
Dr. Shah received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of British Columbia and has over 12 years of innovating practical bioinformatics solutions for genomics of human cancer. His seminal works include the world’s first fully sequenced epithelial cancer genome, the discovery of new cancer gene mutations, global leadership in cancer evolution, and subgroup discovery in ovarian and breast cancer.
